Live polling for house parties

Ask the room a question.

Twelve phones light up, the bars climb, and you find out something about your friends. A five-character code gets everyone in — no app, no account, nothing to download at the door.

Works with a TV, or with no screen at all — the whole night can run on your guests' phones.

Three steps

Nobody installs anything

Not you, not your guests. The whole thing is a web page and a five-character code.

STEP 1

Build the night

Pick a ready-made pack — NYC trivia, a drinking game, life-love-and-future — or write your own. Plain text works; so does pasting from a doc.

STEP 2

Put the code up

On the TV, or held up on your phone, or dropped in the group chat. Guests type five characters and a name. That's the entire sign-up.

STEP 3

Drive it

One button always says the next move — Open, Close, Reveal, Next. When it's over, the same link becomes everyone's recap.

Nothing to install No app, no download, no "which store is it in?" at the door. It's a web page.
No accounts for guests A first name gets someone in. Only the host ever signs in to anything.
No trackers No analytics scripts, no ad pixels, no third-party anything. We don't follow you off this page.

Where this came from

Built for a friend's birthday, then the next one

It isn't a startup. It's a tool that got written because a room full of people needed something to do, and then kept getting used.

The whole thing is written down

One Cloudflare Worker, a SQLite database, two-second polling, and zero runtime dependencies. Every architectural decision — including the ones that turned out awkward — is in a public decision log.

The packs do the vouching

Six ready-made nights ship with it. The NYC trivia pack's ten facts are verified; the drinking game has a rules slide and a pass rule. You can read them before you run them.

If you're the one running it

Made for the person holding the phone

Six moves, from naming the night to wrapping it. The same controls exist whether or not a TV is in the room.

Step 1

Name your party

Where does the room watch? Use a TV, or no TV — the whole night runs on guests' phones. Then a theme, and whether you're driving or guests go at their own speed.

Use a TV No TV
Step 2

Build your deck

Tap a type — poll, quiz, prompt, and the rest — or paste a whole night as text and preview it before it's live.

Step 3 · optional

Split into teams

Name two or more teams and guests balance themselves in as they join. Shuffle mid-party without rewriting the last round's scores.

Step 4

Put the code up

Guests scan a QR or type five characters. With a TV, open the TV screen. With no TV, hold up the join card or send the link to the group chat.

Step 5

Drive the room

One button always shows the next move — Open, Close, Reveal, Next. It tells you when everyone's answered. Guest preview shows exactly what they see.

Step 6

Wrap it up

One tap turns the link guests already have into the recap: scores, streaks, best answers, and contacts from anyone who opted in.

You're the screen

Without a TV, the room looks at you. The moment you reveal, your phone shows what to say out loud — the answer, how many got it, who was fastest.

Changed your mind mid-party

Someone finds the cable at 10pm? Switch to Use a TV. Every phone re-homes within a couple of seconds — nobody rejoins, no scores are lost.

Hand someone the controls

Send a co-host link and they can drive this one party from their own phone. No second sign-in.

Reuse what worked

Save a question to your library, or duplicate last week's night as the starting point for the next one. Export the whole thing as Markdown when it's over.

Reasonable questions

Before you make your friends do this

Do my guests need to download anything?
No. They open a link or scan a QR, type a name, and they're in. It works in whatever browser is already on their phone.
Do they need an account?
No. Guests never sign in. Only the host does.
What if we don't have a TV?
Then don't use one. Phones-only mode was built for exactly that — the reveals and the scoreboard land on everyone's own screen instead.
What happens to what people type in?
Names, answers, and anything a guest chooses to add — a photo, a social handle — are stored so the party can run and so the recap works afterwards. Only people at that party see it. Archiving a party deletes the photos and handles outright; names and answers stay until the host deletes the party.
Someone's phone died and they got kicked out. Now what?
They reopen the link on the same phone and they're straight back in — answers and score included. It's their browser that remembers them, not the name they typed, so a borrowed phone starts fresh.
How many people can play?
More than fit in your apartment. It's built for house-party numbers, not stadiums.
My phone locked and I missed a question.
You'll see which one the room is on now. You can't go back and answer a closed question — nothing else is lost, and you're in for the next one.
What if I'd rather not be on camera?
Skip the selfie. A name is the only thing required, and a photo or a social handle is optional.

What does the room think?
